Results
The training was very well conducted and as a result of the training, we got an overwhelming demand for the course and also further training for the participants. We had a very encouraging and promising prospect for the business at the office of the President Public Service Management Department and at the department of police for the IT security course and forensics.
Future Training and Prospects
Following the strong requests we had for the training, Agumba Computers Ltd. under the auspices of it@ab network, plans to organize two training sessions in August this year for the police department and president’s office responsible for the government. Scheduled tentative dates are Monday 21st August to Friday 8th September 2006. Our IT specialists Fausta and Mniko, who indeed performed very well, that we wouldn’t hesitate to invite other IT specialists of similar knowledge to attend our planned two Trainings in August 20006.
There is a very strong possibility that during the second training sessions, participants will come from whole of East African Countries and it@ab network member countries in particular to the police and tax revenue authorities and auditors.
I have been invited to give the presentation on IT security and cyber laws for the East Africa steering committee for the e-government meeting in Arusha, Tanzania next week. The meeting is organized by the East African Secretariat and I am looking forward to persuade them to recognize it@ab network and make use of it in Tanzania as one of the IT security expert organizations whom they can depend upon for the consultancy, and advise on matters relating to IT security issues.
Project Executed
Agumba Computer Ltd. has also successfully executed the 1st IT security consultancy assignment for the Tanzania Meteorology Agency (TMA), a tender that we publicly won last October 2005. Currently our IT specialists are busy finalizing the final report for submission. The study and execution of the consultancy covered all the TMA centres in the country (12 branch centres).
Conclusion
Agumba Computers Ltd. looks forward to continued co-operation among the members of the network and will work closely together for the development and promotion of the network and its activities under the co-operation with InWEnt.
WE strongly suggest that InWEnt should work with members of the network and not to do things for the network, this will result in a responsible relationship that every party will be accountable and finally yield a healthy win – win long lasting association than the current workshop oriented network with lot of discussions but with limited output for development and sustainability.
Finally, on my own behalf and on behalf of Agumba Computers Ltd. I wish to thank InWEnt and the entire IT project staff for the co-operation and assistance extended to us throughout the project and fellow it@ab members.
I submit,
